    Modified CSLBP

    Image hashing is an efficient way to handle digital data authentication problem. Image hashing represents quality summarization of image features in compact manner. In this paper, the modified center symmetric local binary pattern (CSLBP) image hashing algorithm is proposed. Unlike CSLBP 16 bin histogram, Modified CSLBP generates 8 bin histogram without compromise on quality to generate compact hash. It has been found that, uniform quantization on a histogram with more bin results in more precision loss. To overcome quantization loss, modified CSLBP generates the two histogram of a four bin. Uniform quantization on a 4 bin histogram results in less precision loss than a 16 bin histogram. The first generated histogram represents the nearest neighbours and second one is for the diagonal neighbours. To enhance quality in terms of discrimination power, different weight factor are used during histogram generation. For the nearest and the diagonal neighbours, two local weight factors are used. One is the Standard Deviation (SD) and other is the Laplacian of Gaussian (LoG). Standard deviation represents a spread of data which captures local variation from mean. LoG is a second order derivative edge detection operator which detects edges well in presence of noise. The proposed algorithm is resilient to the various kinds of attacks. The proposed method is tested on database having malicious and non-malicious images using benchmark like NHD and ROC which confirms theoretical analysis. The experimental results shows good performance of the proposed method for various attacks despite the short hash length

    Adaptive CSLBP compressed image hashing

    Hashing is popular technique of image authentication to identify malicious attacks and it also allows appearance changes in an image in controlled way. Image hashing is quality summarization of images. Quality summarization implies extraction and representation of powerful low level features in compact form. Proposed adaptive CSLBP compressed hashing method uses modified CSLBP (Center Symmetric Local Binary Pattern) as a basic method for texture extraction and color weight factor derived from L*a*b* color space. Image hash is generated from image texture. Color weight factors are used adaptively in average and difference forms to enhance discrimination capability of hash. For smooth region, averaging of colours used while for non-smooth region, color differencing is used. Adaptive CSLBP histogram is a compressed form of CSLBP and its quality is improved by adaptive color weight factor. Experimental results are demonstrated with two benchmarks, normalized hamming distance and ROC characteristics. Proposed method successfully differentiate between content change and content persevering modifications for color images

    Gynecological correlation of thyroid disorders in women

    Background: Thyroid dysfunctions are a common cause of abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB). They affect menstrual function and reproductive health. The common presenting complaints are weight gain, menstrual irregularities, PCOS, infertility, fatigue, constipation and body aches.In this study we recommended that any woman presenting with undiagnosed fatigue, weight gain, infertility and menstrual disorders should be subjected to Thyroid profile screening. Thus, there is a need to explore this aspect in the earlier stages so as to prevent long term consequences with reproduction and quality of life.Methods: Current study is a retrospective study. The present study was conducted in the department of obstetrics and gynecology, Cama and Albess hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, from a period of January 2021 to December 2021, 300 women of reproductive age group between menarche to menopause. Quantitative determination of Serum T3, T4 and TSH by CLIA estimated in autoanalyser.Results: The most common age group studied was between 32-40 years. Hyperthyroidism was more common in multipara and hypothyroidism was more common in P2L2. The most common type of menstrual disturbance was menorrhagia. (40.33%) Menorrhagia has been seen to have significant association with thyroid dysfunction. Prevalence of obesity in the study population is 4% and overweight is 23.66%. About 11.33 % of overweight women and 2% of obese women are hypothyroid. 2% of hyperthyroid women are underweight (BMI<18). About 6.33% of women with hypothyroidism had PCOS, most commonly associated with menstrual complaints such as amenorrhoea and oligomenorrhoea. 14% of women with hypothyroidism had clinical findings of anaemia and/or thyromegaly on clinical examination. 14% of women had severe anaemia in the study group, out of which 6.7% of hypothyroid women had severe anaemia. 3.66% women presented with infertility.Conclusions: Biochemical evaluation of thyroid function tests should be compulsory in all patients with menstrual irregularities, PCOS, infertility, fatigue, body aches, anaemia, thyromegaly, weight gain, constipation to detect thyroid dysfunction

    Surgical outcome in germ cell tumor of ovary

    Background: Ovarian cancer accounts for 225,000 new cases and 140,000 deaths every year. Ovarian germ cell tumors account for 15-20% of all ovarian malignancies and incidence of malignant ovarian germ cell tumors is 2-6%. These tumors typically occur in adolescent girls and young women. Appropriate fertility conserving surgical treatment for patients where fertility needs to be preserved and resection of all visible disease can be successfully performed. For patients with advanced-stage disease, debulking surgery is done.Methods: Current study is a retrospective study. The present study was conducted in the department of obstetrics and gynecology, Cama and Albess hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, from a period of May 2019 to December 2021. This study was conducted with 30 patients to evaluate the outcome in operated cases of germ cell tumors of ovary.Results: Majority of the patients (30%) were in the age group of 31-40 years, 17 (56.7%) patients were unmarried while 13 (43.3%) patients were married. The most common symptom was abdominal mass and pain (86.7%). The most common histologic type was dysgerminoma (46.7%). Out of total 19 patients with FIGO stage I, 13 patients (68.4%) underwent Fertility sparing surgery (FSS) and 6 patients (31.6%) underwent non fertility sparing surgery (non-FSS).Conclusions: Surgery has an important role in the management of germ cell tumors. Initial careful surgical staging is of great importance for appropriate subsequent therapy. Fertility sparing surgery is feasible in most cases. Malignant ovarian germ cell tumors have excellent prognosis for stage I and for advanced stages

    Study of maternal and neonatal outcome in teenage pregnancy

    Background: Teenage is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. According to WHO, the period of teenage extends from 11-19 years. The objective of the present study was to find out the incidence and to evaluate the effect of pregnancy in teenage girls (13-19 years) and its maternal and neonatal outcome.Methods: Prospective observational cohort study, the duration from 1st January 2016 to 31st July 2017.Results: 216 teenage patients were studied; however medical termination and abortions were excluded as the study includes both maternal & neonatal outcome. 3944 pregnant patients were admitted for delivery and abortion related care. Out of this, pregnant adolescents were 216. Proportion of adolescent pregnancy was 5.47%. 170(78.7%) were booked, 32 (14.81%) were unmarried, while 50 (23.1%) were literate. Primigravida were 189 (87.5%) & multigravida was 27 (12.5%).39 (18.05%) were Anemic, Preterm labour occurred in 14 (6.5%) & PROM occurred in 41 (18.9%) patients. Preeclampsia and Eclampsia occurred in 27 (12.5%) and 14 (6.5%) respectively. There were 176(81.48%) normal vaginal deliveries.36 (16.66%) had Lower Segment Caesarean Section; commonest indication being Cephalopelvic disproportion (25%) & 4(1.85%) were instrumental deliveries 53 (24.3%) babies required admission at Neonatal Intensive care unit. Low Birth weight babies were 15 (28.3%).Conclusions: - Early ANC registration and good antenatal care with effective intrapartum & postpartum monitoring along with contraceptive advice on discharge help reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity & mortality associated with teenage pregnancy. However, it is evident that teenage pregnancy rates could be reduced by effective measures like sex education in schools, community-based programs, widespread awareness about contraception

    GC-MS and FTIR analysis of methanolic leaf extract of Rhynchosia minima (L.) DC.

    The current analysis was carried out to determine the chemical components in the leaves of R. minima (L.) DC. The GC-MS analysis of methanolic leaves extract of R. Minima indicated the presence of 19 compounds. The prevailing compounds of R. minima leaves were 1Pentadecene (14.31), alpha. Bisabolol (10.39%), 1Heptadecene (9.78%), Cyclohexene,4 (1,5dimethyl1,4hexadienyl (7.06%), 3Hexadecene (Z) (8.10%), Caryophyllene (6.58%), Neophytadiene (5.16%), Humulene (1.91%), Naphthalene,1,2,3,5,6,8 a-hexahydro-4,7-dimethyl (3.72%), Hexadecanoic acid, methyl ester (2.09%), Pentadecanone (3.13%), 8-Octadecanone (4.02%),1-Nonadecene (4.16%), Spiro[4.5]dec-6-en-8-one,1,7-dimethyl-4-(1-methylethyl (2.97%), Neophytadiene (2.24%),(E)-. beta.-Famesene (1.92%), Cyclohexene,4-[(1E)-1,5-dimethyl-1,4-hexadien (1.80%), Cyclohexane,octyl (1.45%), beta Bisabolene (9.21%). These compounds have antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, hemolytic, insecticidal, and lubricant activity. Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy (FTIR) leaf anlysis of R. minima shows lipid, protein, phosphate ion, carboxylic acid, hydroxy compound, aliphatic bromo compounds. The present study revealed that R. minima leaves represent various types of bioactive compounds. 1-Heptadecene with antibiotic activity, 8-Octadecanone shows antimicrobial activity and hexadecanoic acid, nematicide, antibiotic, antioxidant, hypocholesterolemic production of methyl ester

    Menstruation and related disorders in Indian adolescent girls: an observational study

    Background: Menstrual disorders are a common presentation and leading reasons for the physician office visits by adolescents. With this preview, we have made an attempt to evaluate the current changes in the age of menarche, menstruation patterns, the incidence of common menstrual disorders and their etiologies. Aims and objectives of the current study was to evaluate the menstrual disorders, their etiology and treatment modalities in adolescents in tertiary health care setup.Methods: An observational study was carried out on female patients in adolescent age group attending OPD of obstetrics and gynecology, Grant Government Medical College, Mumbai, India. The selected women were explained about the protocol, purpose of the study and were requested to complete the questionnaires to elicit information relating to demographic features, menarche age, and menstrual characteristics. Results were tabulated and analyzed.Results: A total number of 100 cases were included in this study, among them majority were in 16-19 years age group (64%), 79% of the study population belong to the lower class. It was observed that 55% study subject had dysmenorrhoea, 65% had irregular menses, 52% oligomenorrhoea, 13% polymenorrhoea, 28% had menorrhagia, 2% amenorrhea, 10% with PCOS and 2% with endometriosis, 4% with hypothyroidism, 4% with hyperprolactinemia. Most of the study subject responded well to analgesics and hormonal therapy.Conclusions: Menstrual irregularity needs to be evaluated with utmost sensitivity and treated promptly. Lack of sufficient knowledge, awareness regarding menstruation among adolescent girls and social embarrassment should be tackled with education

    Hyperuricemia and maternal outcome in pregnancy induced hypertension: prospective study in a tertiary care center in Mumbai, India

    Background: Pregnancy induced hypertension, preeclampsia, eclampsia are serious complications of pregnancy. They are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the world and one of the leading causes for perinatal mortality also. It is the systemic disease affecting all vital organs including the fetus. Estimation of biochemical markers can give us the indication of the severity and prediction of the outcome. Serum uric acid is the end product of purine metabolism, amongst others like creatinine, LDH, transaminases. Methods: It was a type of prospective descriptive study. The present study was conducted in department of obstetrics and gynecology, Tertiary care hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Results: Pregnancy induced hypertension was most common in age group of 20-25 years, most common complication was preterm delivery which accounts for 43% of maternal complications. 60% of the cases with IUFD had serum uric acid level 8-8.9 mg/dl, 3% of the patients had HELLP syndrome. Conclusions: We found severity of complication associated with raise in serum uric acid levels.

    Biochemical composition, nutritional analysis and antioxidant activity of Buchanania lanzan Spreng fruits

    Buchanania lanzan Spreng belongs to the family Anacardiaceae. The primary focus of this study was to examine phytochemical, proximate, antioxidant property and GCMS evaluation of unripe and ripen fruit of B. lanzan Spreng. The phytochemical studies showed that alkaloids, phenols, flavones, saponins, coumarins, glycosides and tannins are present in both ripen and unripe fruits. The proximate evaluation confirmed that crude fat (14.5%) and protein (6.37±0.69 g/100g) is high in ripen fruit. In unripe fruit (11.3%) crude fat and protein (4.11%) is less percent. The carotenoid (5.58 ± 0.5 mg/100g) and catalase (0.226±0.074 mg/100g) activity is higher in unripe fruit. The total polyphenol (6.4±0.8 mg/100g) and peroxidase (0.362±0.017 mg/100g) content show greater activity in ripen fruit. In DPPH and FRAP highest activity showed in methanol extract of ripen and unripe fruit than the other solvent. GC-MS evaluation showed many bioactive compounds present in unripe and ripen fruit. It is concluded that nutritional and bioactive ability is high in ripen and unripe fruits of B. lanzan. The fruits of B.lanzan are a good source of nutrition and medicinally important

Nowadays vaccines are must, do you really think after getting vaccinated you are safe? The answer is no vaccines are to boost up our immunity level, so that if you get infected it will be not much harmful to you, so here we have implemented an application Face mask detection with alert system where we can get to know that whether the person is wearing a mask or not. If person is not wearing a mask in the premises, campus a beep sound is generated to catch that person. In this application a screen is displayed which detects the human face with or without mask and shows the percentage score of the mask worn. This application will be useful for the areas were number of peoples are more like hotels, airport, schools and colleges. Here first the model is trained on a real-world dataset having with or without face mask and then we have trained our model with live video streaming. The accuracy is obtained by increasing and decreasing the epoch value
